THE QUICK ANSWER
ALL-INCLUSIVE FISHING LODGE IN SOLDOTNA, ALASKA
Marlow's on the Kenai is an all-inclusive fishing lodge in Soldotna, Alaska — a riverfront fishing lodge in Sterling, just 15 minutes from downtown Soldotna — with private fishing docks, four cabins with full kitchens, and all-inclusive packages that bundle lodging, guided fishing, gear, and fish processing. The Bucket List Package starts at $3,000 per person.
WHAT IT MEANS
WHAT “PRIVATE DOCK” MEANS AT MARLOW'S
What “private dock” means at Marlow's: every cabin has direct path access to fishing docks owned by the lodge on the middle Kenai River — no driving to a public boat launch, no waiting in line behind dipnetters, no fighting for bank space. Guests fish from the dock on their own schedule, day or night, between guided trips.
LOCATION
RIVERFRONT LODGE MINUTES FROM SOLDOTNA
Marlow's on the Kenai sits right on the banks of the Kenai River in Sterling, Alaska — just 15 minutes from downtown Soldotna. You get the best of both worlds: quiet, scenic riverfront living with easy access to the largest town on the Kenai Peninsula.
Unlike lodges tucked away in town, our property gives you direct river access from the moment you wake up. Step out of your cabin, walk down to your private dock, and start fishing — no driving to a boat launch, no fighting for a spot on a crowded bank. The river is your backyard. Eagles circle overhead, moose wander through the property, and the only sounds you hear are the current and the birds.
Sterling is a quieter, more scenic alternative to staying in Soldotna itself. You're close enough to grab supplies, hit a restaurant, or pick up last-minute gear — but far enough away that you actually feel like you're in Alaska. That balance is what keeps guests coming back year after year.
THE DIFFERENCE
WHY STAY ON THE RIVER INSTEAD OF IN TOWN
Most visitors to the Soldotna area book a hotel in town and drive to the river every morning. That means loading up gear, finding parking at a public launch, and competing with dozens of other anglers for the best water. At Marlow's, you skip all of that. Our private docks mean you can fish anytime — early morning, late evening, or on a whim after lunch. No crowds, no hassle, no wasted time.
Beyond the fishing, staying on the river changes the entire experience. Watch bald eagles dive for salmon from your cabin window. Spot moose grazing along the riverbank at dusk. Sit around the fire pit after dinner and listen to the river flow past. It's a level of immersion you simply can't get from a hotel room in town.
With just four riverfront cabins and a maximum of 14 guests at a time, Marlow's is personal and uncrowded. Every cabin comes with a full kitchen, and the property includes a fire pit, outdoor grill, and fish cleaning station. It's a true lodge experience — without the hotel price tag or the impersonal feel of a large resort.
ON THE WATER
FISHING FROM OUR SOLDOTNA-AREA LODGE
The Kenai River is one of the most productive salmon rivers in the world, and Marlow's puts you right in the middle of it. Our guided fishing trips cover everything from salmon fishing to trophy rainbow trout to ocean charters out of Homer and Ninilchik.
King salmon arrive first, filling the river from mid-May through July. Sockeye runs explode in late June and peak through July, with millions of fish returning to the Kenai and nearby rivers. Silver salmon follow from late July through September, offering aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights that make them a favorite among fly anglers and spin casters alike.
September brings some of the best trophy rainbow trout fishing anywhere in Alaska. These big rainbows feed heavily on salmon eggs and flesh as the spawning season winds down, making fall one of the most exciting times to fish the Kenai. For guests who want to add an ocean day, we arrange halibut charters out of Homer and Ninilchik — a scenic day trip from the lodge that puts you on some of the best bottom fishing in the state.
Fly-out adventures take you to remote rivers and lakes across the Kenai Peninsula and beyond, targeting species and water that most anglers never see. Whether you want a half-day guided drift or a full week of back-to-back fishing, we build trips around what you want to catch and when you want to catch it.
All gear is provided — rods, reels, tackle, and waders. Guides are experienced locals who know these waters inside and out, arranged directly through the lodge so you don't have to coordinate anything on your own. Check out our Bucket List Package for the ultimate all-inclusive Alaska fishing experience.
